Fall 2025 Recreation League – Join the Fun!

The Southern Maryland Eliminators Fall Recreation League is the perfect way for young athletes to get active, learn field hockey, and have fun in a positive, supportive environment. Open to athletes ages 4–14 (Pre-K through 9th grade for the 2025–2026 school year), our league welcomes all levels of experience—from brand-new players to advanced athletes.

Who Can Play?

  • New: 0 seasons

  • Beginner: 1–3 seasons

  • Intermediate: 4–6 seasons

  • Advanced: 7+ seasons

Divisions by Grade

  • Kiddie Sticks: Pre-K & K

  • Grades 1–2

  • Grades 3–4 (goalies introduced here)

  • Grades 5–6

  • Grades 7–9

Players are placed on teams based on grade level and each team is built with a balanced mix of skill levels to encourage fair play, competition, and fun.

Season Timeline

Practices:  August 17 through October 24, 2025
Opening Day: Saturday, September 6, 2025
Games: 8-game season, Saturdays 9 AM – 3 PM at Lancaster Park (Fields 7 & 8)
Final Game Day: Saturday, October 25, 2025 with optional Halloween Dress-Up!

Each team practices 1–2 times per week (based on coach/field availability) with Saturday game days that bring families and athletes together in an exciting community atmosphere.

Practices

  • Locations: Lancaster Park & Chaptico Park (turf fields)

  • Schedules: Released mid-August via email & SportsEngine

  • Format: 3–4 drills, corners (for Grades 5-6 & 7–9 divisions), and scrimmages every practice

Kiddie Sticks (Pre-K & K): Saturdays at 9 AM, Lancaster Park, Field 7 (middle section)

Coaches & Referees

  • Volunteer Coaches: Mostly parents, many who have played field hockey and/or have coaching backgrounds

  • Referees: Southern Maryland Athletic Conference (SMAC) officials + local HS athletes = great role models!

  • Standards: All follow USA Field Hockey rules (modified by grade level); many are USAFH certified
