USA Field Hockey Information
USA Field Hockey is the national governing body for sport of field hockey in the United States and is based out of Colorado Springs, CO.
USA Field Hockey’s purpose is to be an Effective Sport Leader, by generating and allocating resources to achieve its mission to:
- Grow the Game by promoting and developing field hockey as a sport for all, sport for life.
- Serve and Inspire Membership by helping people achieve their field hockey ambition and creating value for membership.
- Succeed Internationally by performing well in elite competition and enhanced high performance programming.
The Eliminators are a registered USA Field Hockey club, giving our Winter Indoor and Spring Outdoor teams the opportunity to compete in National and Regional USA Field Hockey qualifiers and events each season. Our Board of Directors and travel coaches are all certified through USA Field Hockey, having completed the required training to ensure athletes receive high-quality instruction and development.

All athletes selected to compete on an Eliminators Club Travel Team must have a current USA Field Hockey membership.

Players participating in the Recreational League are automatically assigned a membership number.

Memberships are valid for 12 months from the date of registration and must remain current through the end of each season. Renewals can be completed early or set to automatic.

Club Team Age Groups and Eligibility
USA Field Hockey’s Events and Club Services Department announced an update to the National and Regional Club Events age divisions classifications in 2024. This update reflects a thoughtful consideration of club and athletes’ needs and better aligns with the school systems to promote a more cohesive experience for participants. The adjustment to the August 1st birthdate for age groups aims to streamline the process, allowing players to compete alongside their classmates, whenever possible.
This update specifically applies to club-specific events, which include the National Indoor Tournament, National Indoor Tournament Qualifiers, National Indoor Festival, National Hockey Festival, Regional Club Championships, National Club Championships, Summer Bash Series, and Sunshine Showcase. This update was implemented for the 2025 club season and continues for the 2026 club season.
Here's a breakdown of the updated age classifications for the 2026 club season:
- Under-10 (U10) Age Classification: Players born after July 31, 2015, are eligible.
- Under-12 (U12) Age Classification: Players born after July 31, 2013, are eligible.
- Under-14 (U14) Age Classification: Players born after July 31, 2011, are eligible.
- Under-16 (U16) Age Classification: Players born after July 31, 2009, are eligible.
- Under-19 (U19) Age Classification: Players born after July 31, 2007, are eligible.
It's important to note that athletes of a younger age classification may play in older age divisions, but an older age division player may not play in the younger age division. This ensures fairness and appropriate competition levels.
